❖Akhtala - Georgian 10th century fortified monastery in Lori region, its temple complex is situated in Akhtala village, Lori province. Near to Georgia's southern border (Early, a part of Georgia's territory). The fortress played an important role in protecting the southern border of Georgia. In Akhtala Monastery are well preserved Georgian frescoes and graves.
❖Monasteries of Hagphat and Sanahin are among the UNESCO world heritage list. (XI-XIII)
❖The architectural complexes of Sanahin and Haghpat are among the outstanding works of medieval architecture. In their artistic merits they transcend the limits of national culture.
❖ Kayan Berd Fortress (1233 AD) - The old hilltop fortification controlled access to Haqhpat and Sanain monsteries and to Alaverdi Bridge in Dzoraget Gorge.
